Portage Park District issued the following announcement on February 9.
Did you know? Keeping your dog leashed at the park also protects wildlife habitat and sensitive plants. Ground nesting birds and a variety of mammals, amphibians, and reptiles are disturbed by unleashed dogs. Dogs roaming off trail can also damage rare plants and spread invasive species.
