The Portage County Extension Office received a donation last summer of last spring's garden seed stock. These seeds were handed out during the 2021 Portage County Randolph Fair. There are still many seed packets left.
The Extension Office will be handing free garden seeds (3-5 packets per person) next week March 21, 23, & 24 during office hours. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9AM-4PM. However, we will be closing next Wednesday at 3PM due to programing.
Even though we are getting a little late to start some longer season veggies and herbs many can still be started indoors for your garden this spring. There are a wide variety of seeds available including: vegetables, herbs, flowers, and some perennials.
PLEASE NOTE: These are older seed packets and % germination does decrease with time; it is a good idea to increase the planting rate.
