Portage Park District issued the following announcement on March 25.
In honor of our early spring amphibians, let's play Find a Frog Friday! Can you spot the Wood Frog on its journey to a vernal pool at Towner's Woods Park? These common woodland frogs can be found in the leaf litter along the trails all year, but only call during a short breeding season this time of year. Listen for their loud barking or quacking calls in wooded areas of your Portage Parks.
