On Labor Day, K-9 Hulk and his handler conducted a traffic stop on S.R. 14 in Ravenna Township for a registration violation. During the course of the traffic stop, indicators of criminal activity were observed. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a bag containing approximately 56 grams of Methamphetamine, which was hidden inside the center console. Additional baggies of Methamphetamine were also located.
The driver a 39 year old male from Cleveland, OH and the passenger, a 45 year old female from Barberton, OH were arrested and charged with:
-F2 Trafficking in Drugs
-F2 Possession of Drugs
The vehicle, which was registered to the driver, was seized pending forfeiture.
Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski wants drug traffickers to know that Portage County roadways are not safe for them to transport their narcotics. We will remain vigilant and relentless.
