Portage County Sheriff's OfficeK-9 Cavo and his handler conducted a traffic stop on Mogadore Road

On September 8th, 2022 K-9 Cavo and his handler conducted a traffic stop on Mogadore Rd. in the City of Kent for window tint and registration violations. During the course of the traffic stop, indicators of criminal activity were observed. K-9 Cavo was deployed and alerted to the vehicle for the presence of narcotic odor. 

A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 40 grams of Methamphetamine, which was hidden behind the glove compartment. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia was also located in the vehicle. 

The driver, a 46 year old male from Akron, OH was charged with:

-M4 Fictitious Plates 

-MM Possession of Marijuana

The front seat passenger, a 45 year old male from Akron, OH, who admitted the Methamphetamine was his, and who was later found in possession of a Meth pipe was charged with:

-F2 Trafficking in Drugs 

-F2 Possession of Drugs 

-M2 Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments 

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, drug traffickers beware Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski will not allow you to use our roadways to transport your narcotics.
