The Ohio House of Representatives has passed House Bill 380, designating a portion of I-76 in Portage County as the "Patrolman William J. Keller Memorial Highway." Representative Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) announced the legislation's approval.

House Bill 380 will name the segment of I-76 between Lakewood Road and Industry Road in honor of Patrolman William J. Keller. “I was surprised to learn this has yet to be done to honor Patrolman Keller as this is a small token of appreciation to recognize an officer who made the ultimate sacrifice,” said Pavliga. “It is with the Keller family and local Portage County Highway patrol in mind that we created a bill to rightfully honor Patrolman Keller.”

Patrolman Keller served with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for ten months before his fatality.

The bill now moves to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
