State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) was recognized on Tuesday by the Public Children's Services Association of Ohio with the Legislator of the Year Award. This accolade honors legislators who demonstrate exceptional leadership and action on issues affecting children and families within the child services system.
“It is a true honor to receive this award,” said Pavliga. “I look forward to continuing to be your advocate. It is an honor to serve my community, our great state, and all of you who do this wonderful work on behalf of our children.”
Pavliga was acknowledged for her legislative efforts, particularly regarding House Bill 512, which addresses Ohio’s child placement crisis. HB 512 has passed out of the House Families and Aging Committee and is pending a vote on the House floor.
The Public Children’s Services Association of Ohio (PCSACO) presented the Legislator of the Year Award at their Annual Conference in Columbus. PCSACO is a statewide membership-driven association comprising Ohio’s county Public Children Services Agencies that advocates for sound public policy, promotes program excellence, and builds public value for safe children, stable families, and supportive communities.
