While the holidays can be a time of great joy and fellowship with family and friends, this time of year can be especially difficult for those who have lost loved ones and for those who are facing difficulties. This afternoon our day shift officers were called to a residence in the area of Sunnybrook Rd. and Saxe Rd. for a welfare check report of a man threatening suicide with a firearm. After spending a significant amount of time talking with him from outside, officers were later able to safely go inside to continue talking with him. Eventually he agreed to be taken to an area hospital by BFD to get the help that he needs, and the family is being provided with additional resources.
If you or a loved one are having a hard time, know that it’s OK to not be OK, and reach out for help.
